Did You Brush Your Teeth Today? STOP!

What did you do today? I bet you got up, went to the toilet and brushed your teeth. Did you really brush your teeth or did you just do it? What do you mean Dr Shonpal? No I mean seriously, did you really brush your teeth? The problem is you (like most of us) are on autopilot. This is an unconscious decision-making system so we can take care of routine tasks and it prevents us from overloading i.e. to stop being bombarded by information.

But how do you know your on autopilot? It could be one of the following
Does time fly? Maybe you can’t remember what you did throughout the day.
Look at your calendar. Is it full of repetitive activities?
Is your mind always on? You never have a chance to pause to reflect on feelings or what you are doing
Y’all got FOMO? You believe you are missing out i.e. fear of missing out

So the problem is we need to all stop existing and start living by getting out of the autopilot and start handling life. Now I am not suggesting you analyse everything but focus on small things.

So here is Dr Shonpal’s ‘daily anti-autopilot exercise’ tip. When you sit down to have that cup of tea/coffee in morning...STOP!!! Follow these next steps:

Take your cup away from desk
Breathe deeply and take 5 minutes
Enjoy taste and smell
Enjoy the pleasure!

Try it for the week and let me know what you think. Did you enjoy the cup of tea? How did you feel? Like, comment and let me what you thought.
